Accessible Educational Materials Information and Making PowerPoints Accessible

Digital accessibility experts from OU’s Accessibility and Disability Resource Center will lead a conversation on what it means to implement an Inclusive (Universal) Design and make PowerPoint presentations accessible according to OU accessibility standards. When you register, you are encouraged to submit your own questions about accessible educational materials. Notes:

• Please note that at 1 hour and 3 minutes, the group discusses whether tabs are accessible in Canvas. We have since discovered that they are not accessible to screen readers.
• Color contrast checker via WebAIM (OU’s red is HEX #841617, which is compliant on white background)
• 25 point font for presentations projected in classrooms is a good recommendation
• Never have a color be the only way of conveying information
• Reading order in PowerPoint can be viewed in “Selection Pane.”
• You can modify the design suggestions in PowerPoint.
