Understanding the past and the unique experience and responsibilities of American citizenship are essential as educators move toward equipping students for bright futures as the informed leaders of tomorrow. Exploring this diverse history, critically weaving the lessons of the past into the lives and ideologies of young minds today is vital for a greater appreciation of the truly brilliant and malleable US democracy that continually evolves. The American history survey courses – 1483 and 1493 offer students the privilege and unique opportunity of learning about the country’s past while working with The University of Oklahoma’s most distinguish and senior history faculty.
