This session will explore practical strategies for designing assessments that are resilient to AI use. Participants will learn how to blend digital tools with analog design to create exams and assignments that promote authentic student engagement.
The session will highlight OU-supported IT resources such as AI-enabled proctoring platforms, browser lockdown tools, and systems that help secure online assessments. In addition to digital solutions, the session will present analog approaches that reduce reliance on AI-generated content. These include in-class assessments, personalized and context-specific prompts, and process-based assignments that emphasize student thinking and revision. These strategies not only deter inappropriate AI use but also support deeper learning and critical thinking.
Special attention will be given to resources available within the OU community, including support from OU IT, the Center for Faculty Excellence, and instructional design teams.
